GIU, Day 1

You probably know that Unity Stamp Co. is one of my most favorite stamp companies around. Every week they have a feature they call Growing in Unity (GIU) in which they feature a lucky crafter/customer/fan on their blog. This week I am the GIU girl! For my first project I wanted to share these Christmas cards I made. Elf is one of my family's favorite holiday movies. So I had to buy both these stamp sets and make a few cards to mail out to my other Elf-loving friends.

Snow Day shaker card

Hi! I am over at the Craft Warehouse blog today with 3 Christmas cards. I got to use Lawn Fawn's Snow Day collection. Go have a peek!

I also had this shaker card that I made. My first shaker card. These are so much fun!

 I used Distress Ink in Weathered Wood and a waterbrush to paint the snowy hills. Then I used the Snow Day stamp set to stamp the snowflakes, tree line, rabbit, and sentiment. There are also matching dies for the stamps So I used those to cut out the rabbit and single tree.

 Then I used random sequins and glitter to fill my frame. I can't wait to make more!

Season's Greetings

 It's Christmas Cards week over at SP and Company!

I really liked the woodgrain effect I got from my last card that I had to make more using the Vintage October: Wooden it Be Nice set. I was hoping this panel would emulate a front door:

To make the wreath I used Poppy Field Summer. Yep, you read that right! I used the stamp shown below and only inked up the leafy portion in green as you can see below (never mind the stained flowers - there is not really ink on them).

I just repeatedly stamped that section in green while I slowly rotated my cardstock panel until I had a circle. I added some red glittter glue and ribbon and called it a wreath!

For the sentiment I used Ultimate Sentiments II and Mix n Match Sentiments Basics to create the banner.

I now have my first Christmas card of the year! I can almost smell the evergreen and hear the carols...
