Dr. Who-themed gifts

My son is such big Dr. Who fan so I couldn't help but make a couple projects for his birthday last week!

First was a Doctor-inspired birthday card. I made a similar card at my monthly card class so I used it as a pattern to make one that looked very Dr. Who like. You can't see it too well but I took brown cardstock and stamped a tweed-like stamp on it for texture.

Then I took a plain black journal I found and turned it into this TARDIS journal just like River Song carries. My son has been journaling in it every day since I gave it to him!

I designed a cut file and used lots of blue paint! I'll be making a second journal for my other son so stay tuned for a quick tutorial in a few days.

Another fun gift to include would be one of these pens-turned-sonic screwdrivers.
Cheap pens + oven-bake clay= sonic screwdrivers!
Sonic Screwdriver craft made with clay and a pen. Dr. Who week on Doodlecraft blog
I found this craft on Pinterest (https://www.pinterest.com/pin/223913412700147905/)
We've actually made very many of these and I was going to add some to my photo but ours are so heavily used that they are just too dirty for photos! It is an easy, inexpensive and kid-friendly craft. Follow her directions and use the pens she suggests and you'll have some very happy whovian kiddos. Even if you are not Dr. Who fans you can still make Harry Potter wands or Star Wars light sabers maybe!

beautiful soul

I've been in the mood to paint so I pulled out this new-to-me Unity girl stamp and stamped it onto a 6"x6"-ish piece of wood. And then painted it with acrylic paints.

The sides are all painted a dark grey and the front edges are smudged with a gelato.

This was so fun that I've already started my second.
 piece!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great weekend!

whispy prairie

I just started going to a monthly card-making class. We were left with a challenge to use kraft cardstock, white ink, and embossing. Here's what I came up with:

I embossed woodgrain on white paper and stamped this new Unity stamp I just got called Whispy Prairie. I love this stamp and the way it looks in white on kraft.

And layered it all together with coral patterned paper, twine, foam tape, and a kraft card base.

hello sweet baby

Just a quick post to share a cute little card I made for Unity's Friends with Flair.

This is a new little stamp I just got from Unity and I couldn't wait to use it! Elephants are my favorite! Cute critters is the current challenge at The Paper Girls Challenge and this stamp is the first thing that came to mind!

I used my Spectrum Noir markers (BG1, BG2, PP3, PP5, BT1, BT4) to color her in. Love it!

Have a great weekend!
