Happy Faulker Satherhood. And some undies.

Well I haven't made any time for crafting lately. My kids are FINALLY out of school though. Man Washington schools seem to go on forever. We've never lived anywhere with such a late last day of school. But they are out and now I am trying to keep them all entertained! We have workbooks, chore time, exercise time,  reading time, and outdoor play time. The funny thing is that they don't mind any of it. They actually really like having a bit of a schedule. They have really enjoyed helping out in the garden and watching plants grow and then picking fruit to eat.  I love that they love that!

Anyway, they are taking most of my time now. But I don't mind in the least :)

This is the first thing I made in like a month.
It was a Father's Day card for my husband.

So does anyone get the sentiment??? I hope someone out there does!

Well here's the story in case you don't.  http://www.cakewrecks.com/home/2009/5/4/happy-falker-satherhood.html  If you don't desire to click over I'll just paraphrase and say it was a Father's Day cake gone terribly awry. For some reason my husband and I find it terribly amusing. And we refer back to it every year on this date.

I decided to turn it into a card. Why not??
And if I wasn't rolling with enough laughter to begin with I {for some reason} decided I needed underwear as embellishments. Just as random as the sentiment I guess.
The underwear are from Unity Stamps' set called Change is a Good Thing.
Perhaps I have been spending too much time with three little boys but I find this extremely funny!

Well, folks that's my laugh right now. Underwear humor. It can't be avoided when you mother 3 boys.

Thanks for stopping by.
I'm linking up to Unity's FWF hop. Come comment for your chance to win some stamps!

Not your average Father's Day card

I found this ecard image and immediately had to turn it into a paper card!
I mean it's too funny and too true not to!

I just printed it out and cropped it to fit my card. I matted it on black and placed it on some  Authentique Gathering paper.

I embellished with some fussy cut flowers and a black flourish.

My husband is not the sentimental type, but he loves humor so I thought this would be perfect for him!

I'm entering this into Scrapbook Steals Monday Card Madness sketch challenge
and Authentique's Color Inspiration Challenge (yay - so glad that is back!)

Supplies:
Authentique Gathering 6x6 pad
SU Basic black and Crumb Cake cardstock
Spellbinders Twisted Metal Tags & Accents die for the flourish
foam tape

Paper Girls Challenge #9

This is my second post of the day. For my SP DT post see here.
--------------------------------------------

It's time for Challenge #9 already over at The Paper Girls Challenge blog!

This one is hosted by Erica and she has issued us the challenge of using subway art!

Now, this is not anything I would have tried on my own, but I sure am glad I did.

Not sure what subway art is? Try these samples over on Pinterest.

I thought this would make a nice Father's Day gift. So I asked my boys (ages 8, 6, and 2) some words that describe their dad. Here's what we came up with!

I created the actual word collage in Microsoft Publisher using a combo of WordArt and text boxes and then dropped in a couple photos. I printed on white cardstock, mounted on blue cardstock, black label, and placed on 12x12 white cardstock.

I then embellished with stars, brads, and banners.

I placed it in a 12x12 shadow box.

Hopefully, this will help liven up his rather dreary office!

I hope you play along with us in this challenge! You can create a layout, card, or altered item.

As always, one winner will be chosen at random to win an assortment of crafty supplies!

Thanks for stopping by!!
