Just a Note - a teacher gift

I made a few more note boxes to give as teacher gifts.
I decorated 3x5 notecard boxes and made small note cards to put in them.
I figure teachers always need cards to thank parents or to send reminders or something!
And this is small enough they can keep it on their desk or in a drawer and repurpose it when they are done.

This one is for Authentique's color challenge. I am just loving blues and yellows lately.

I used Mod Podge to attach all my papers.
I love these flowers I fussy cut from the "You + Me = Bliss" Unity and Authentique co-branded stamp set. I also covered them in several layers of Mod Podge for extra durability before attaching to the box.

Some of the coordinating cards inside:

Thanks for stopping by! Hopefully I'll get the other boxes finished and photographed soon.

Pull out your paints!

For my SP and Company stamps post this week I pulled out my paints!

I made my own spray with just paint and water.
I like it really paint-y and opaque so I used about equal parts paint and water, maybe a little more paint. If you look at the bottle below the dark on the bottom of the bottle is paint and the lighter top portion is the water. I found that the Mini Mister bottle gave it more of a flicked or splotchy look versus the finer spray of the travel bottle, but they were both really good.
Just shake this up and you're ready to go.
I sprayed my pink paper (all my paper is from Authentique's Splendid line) with the lime paint. Then after it was dry, I used chocolate brown paint to stamp the flower image from Poppy Field Summer. I just put the brown paint on a flat surface and press the stamp into it. I like to stamp off on scrap paper first and then touch up spots with my finger before stamping on my project. This helps to avoid a really messy and splotchy look. You know, versus this only somewhat splotchy look I have!
The gloss finish of the green paint gave it a really fun look on the card.
Next, I used Fashionista Alphabet to stamp my sentiment onto raspberry cardstock.
I then cut banners from it and more Splendid paper (the plaid and green herringbone).

Do you recognize the layout of this card? It's from the card I posted on Friday. I just loved it so much that I had to re-create it again!

The color inspiration for this card is from Authentique's current color challenge which is to use Pink Lemonade, raspberry, Kiwi, and Chocolate.

I'm also entering this into Simon Says Stamp & Show challenge which is to Paint it Up!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Thank you card

This week at The Paper Girls our challenge is for you to use rubons. I'm sure you have some somewhere in your big stash of crafty supplies! For my example I've got a little Thank You card.

The sentiment, dotted line, and flower and leaves are all rubons. Rubons that I've had for years and just finally decided to use them.

For my card I used the sketch from the July Authentique sketch challenge and the colors from their June color challenge.

I'm also entering this into Young Crafters Unite challenge to use many layers.

The tan paper is Authentique's Foundations from the Glowing line.
The orangish paper is from Authentique's Free Bird Endless line.
And the light blue is from their Gathering line.

On top of the paper I've added my rubons, then some pearls, twine, and butterflies.
Thanks for stopping by! And come play with The Paper Girls for the chance to win some crafty goodies!

Supplies:
Authentique paper from Glowing, Free Bird Endless, and Gathering

For You

Here's a fun card I made for a friend:

Inspiration came from the following challenges:
Authentique sketch challenge
Crafter's Companion June challenge to use Sunshine/Yellow and their stamps
Stacy's card challenge to use pearls
Stampin Sisters in Christ to use flags or banners

Of course when I need yellow paper one of my go-to lines is Authentique's Blissful!
And I used the daisies from the Poppies and Daisies stamp set from Crafter's Companion.
I love all the bright yellow, but think the kraft paper and linen tone it down nicely.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Not your average Father's Day card

I found this ecard image and immediately had to turn it into a paper card!
I mean it's too funny and too true not to!

I just printed it out and cropped it to fit my card. I matted it on black and placed it on some  Authentique Gathering paper.

I embellished with some fussy cut flowers and a black flourish.

My husband is not the sentimental type, but he loves humor so I thought this would be perfect for him!

I'm entering this into Scrapbook Steals Monday Card Madness sketch challenge
and Authentique's Color Inspiration Challenge (yay - so glad that is back!)

Supplies:
Authentique Gathering 6x6 pad
SU Basic black and Crumb Cake cardstock

Paper Girls Challenge #6

It's my turn to host over at The Paper Girls Challenge blog!

I decided to use this photo for the challenge's inspiration:

Here are the projects I created:
For my card I used the colors as inspiration. I took a grey cardbase, yellow woodgrain paper, white homemade washi tape, and yellow dot purchased tape. I fussy cut some Authentique flowers and stamped a sentiment.

I went a little more literal with my layout.
I cut 2-inch squares of clear acetate, then cut 1 3/4-inch squares of Authentique Blissful paper. I adhered the clear squares over the paper (using spray adhesive) so they'd look like the frames in the inspiration photo.

I die cut a branch from the Straight from the Nest cartridge to help anchor my photo.

I hand-cut a banner and stamped my simple sentiment from a Unity/Authentique stamp:

I am entering the layout over at Stampin Sisters in Christ #135 which is to use something transparent.

I also tried to use this sketch from Authentique's monthly challenge:
I initially had hexes cut out but just wasn't feeling it. I stared at my LO for hours. Then I switched to squares and that's when it all came together. The title was moved to the bottom. I added extra squares instead of those hangy things. And added a branch instead of a bow. It's funny how one vision is transformed into something else. I was totally stressed about this project, but then making those few changes turned it into a layout that I finally love!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you come play with The Paper Girls and the other two challenges!

I scrapped. It's true. It finally happened again!

I used this sketch from this month's Authentique challenge:

Sonshine

Project #30 of 100
---------------------------------

This layout was supposed to be for two challenges - the Authentique Color Challenge and the Unity Friends with Flair Challenge. But I missed the deadline for Authentique. It was Wednesday : (  I guess since FWF is on a Friday I just had today in mind to post this. Oh well. *(more excuses at the bottom of post)*

Here it is:

Authentique's challenge was to use pink, blue, and yellow. (Way out of my neutrals and earth tones comfort zone!)

I cut my title using my Cricut.
The flowers were stamped and fussy cut from the You + Me = Bliss set from Unity that also happens to be a co-brand with Authentique!

The tags and stickers are Authentique's as are the 12x12 paper and the patterned paper making the rays. Those were punched with the SU ribbon trim punch.

This turned out way different than I had intended. But I like that I have pink and flowers and a doily on a layout about the boys.

------------------------------
*I think I seriously worked on this layout for almost two weeks. Only for like 5 minutes at a time, but still.  Baby has been teething like forever now. Nothing like a grumpy needy baby to keep you from getting things  done. Then the kindergartener decided to catch strep and miss 3 1/2 days of school. Nothing like a needy baby and sick 5-year-old to keep me from getting things done! Then baby also decided to spend an afternoon vomitting on me. Stomach bug? IDK. Luckily it didn't last too long. I haven't posted anything in 2 weeks : \  That feels like so long. But we all appear healthy now*

for you

Project #29
--------------------------

This is for Authentique's FIRST monthly challenge! The first half of the month is a sketch challenge (one each for a layout and a card) and the second half is a color combo. This is my card:

The only items that aren't Authentique are the card base, green swirl sticker and I-Rock gems.
From Authentique I used the Blissful 6x6 pad, Diction stickers and Petite Type Circle Stickers.

The lighting isn't the best in the photo. But, oh well.
I love those little alphas!
