Paper Girls Challenge #100

It's time for Challenge #100 over at The Paper Girls Challenge!!
I got to meet several of The Paper Girls at a Scrapbook Steals retreat a few years ago.
I decided to share some layouts from that trip for this challenge.

This first layout has a photo of the at-the-time current Paper Girls present at the retreat. Sheryl, me, Erica, Heather, and Kristy

These next layouts include a couple more future Paper Girls (Misty and Michele)

And I forgot to take a photo of the layout with my roommate and future Paper Girl Jessica. BUT, I did use a paper pack that Jessica gave me for these. So she's here in spirit! It was Pink Paislee's Daily Junque. I loved that paper pack.

Thanks for stopping by and please come check out Challenge #100. It is being sponsored by ScrapbookSteals. So you know the prize is gonna rock!

rainbow layout

RAINBOW is the current challenge at The Paper Girls Challenge blog. So I scrapbooked this photo I took of a rainbow a few months ago.

I used the March Mood Board from Jot Magazine and this Mid Week Mojo sketch from ScrapbookSteals.

baby jack jack layout

The current challenge at The Paper Girls is Superheroes!

I've had these photos of my little one dressed as baby Jack Jack from The Incredibles that I've been wanting to scrap for years.

I used a sunray stencil to ink a yellow starburst onto my background. Matted my photos in black. Added title with stickers. Simple journaling card. And the only embellishment is the mask that went with his costume!

I don't know why it took me so long to do this.

Thanks for stopping by today! Happy scrapping and please play along in our challenge if you get a chance!

I followed it almost exactly.

1-year-old layout

I just found this photo of my niece in my craft room. Oh my goodness she was a cutie.
I had to scrap it right away.

I created a background for the photo using texture paste and a stencil. After it was dry I rubbed some gold gelato on it. I sprinkled some olive paint across the page. Punched a bunch of butterflies and popped them with foam. Added an Epiphany Crafts epoxy heart. And finally hung some chipboard from some twine.

I need to find more photos of her and scrap them too. It was fun making something so girly (which I rarely do since I have 3 boys)!

Thanks for stopping by today. I'm posting this over at The Paper Girls Challenge blog. Our current challenge is Anythng Goes. Come join us for a chance to win some crafting goodies!

3 silly monsters

My middle child loves to be a clown and have attention. And bother his brothers! All I wanted this nice afternoon was to snap a few photos of them together and he certainly kept it entertaining for us!

This layout was inspired by this sketch from The Paper Girls Challenge:
And this mood board from Jot Magazine:

Without the mood board I totally would have gone with more natural muted colors. But I like the bright colors and the fun monsters!

the friendship mug

So I had these friends Victoria and Jenni. We would meet almost weekly for craft days. Some days we'd actually craft. Some days we'd just talk and eat. You never knew. Thursdays were always fun because I knew to expect some girl time on craft day.

Then I moved.
:(

I miss them and our craft days. But before I left Jenni bought us all a matching mug. A friendship mug she called it. So we could remember each other every time we use it.

Of course I loved it so much that I had to scrapbook it. I just thought that was one of the nicest gestures anyone had done for me. Gosh, I miss those girls. And I do think of them every time I use it.

I stamped a bunch of friendship quotes alongside the photo:
I added a gold-embossed chipboard heart, a gold framed heart, an Epiphany Crafts epoxy, and a flair for my embellies.
Oh, and see those faux coffee stains? I just dipped my embossing powder jar in brown ink, misted it with water and then stamped it down to get a coffee stain look.

So thankful

I am still alive.
I just have almost no time devoted to crafting lately :(

But the upside of having a house on the market is that it is pretty clean! :)
Too bad it takes so long to clean :(

A good amount of boxes have been packed. But we still have MANY to go.
Only 4 more weeks left of living in Colorado. In one month we'll be in Washington.
Crazy.

I happened to find this photo on my craft table. It is one of the very few that were not packed. I decided to play along with the Thankful theme that  The Paper Girls are hosting.

The background paper is from an old Stampin Up set called Autumn Meadows. The solid cardstock might be River Rock from Stampin Up. And the rust is from a Colorbok pad. From the Simons Says Stamp October card kit I used the chipboard heart, twine, and the woodgrain and arrow papers from Lawn Fawn's Into the Woods.

The leaves were from a SU die (I'm too lazy to look it up!).
I handwrote the title with a Faber-Castell PITT big brush pen (love those markers).

I got to use my new Tim Holts Rays mask with some tinted modeling paste to make these sun rays. I adore modeling paste. I adore stencils. Put them together and I am so happy!

It felt good to get my hands messy again :)

They fish. I read.

Jessica at The Paper Girls Challenge has challenged us to use some sort of sewing on our project.
Well...I didn't technically sew. But I did use sewing thread and wound it around my page.
I had planned to stitch some lines on the page to journal on too. But I decided I liked the page better without the lines and wanted to leave it simple. I used tiny bits of quick-drying glue along the thread at the ends and where it overlaps itself at the loops.
I dropped black mist on my page. Used leftover book page leaves from my last project (which happened to just be laying on my desk and were just perfect for a layout about reading!).
Some gold sequins and a piece of flair. And that was it.

Water color projects

Hi crafty friends!
I've got several water colored projects today thanks to my current watercolor challenge over at The Paper Girls.

First up is this fun layered card. I applied the water color directly to my stamp and stamped several colors onto the tag. Then I layered it over several papers and added the sequins and Epiphany Crafts epoxy.

Then I painted my background for this layout using yellow, blue, and tan. I sprinkled some salt onto the tan while it was wet to get some texture on it and rubbed it off once dry.

And lastly, I stamped this image and then used watercolor pencils and a water brush to color it in.
(psst...this card's for sale in my shop)

Thanks for stopping by today.
I really hope you will join in on the fun. I've got a prize for one lucky winner!

One of the Boys

The current challenge over at The Paper Girls Challenge blog is a sketch.
Here's my layout:
I used my June Simon Says Stamp card kit. I love all the Basic Grey Hipster papers. LOVE.

Here's the sketch:

I loved the papers so much I tried to squeeze on as many as I could using these banners.

And of course some ink and enamel dots were necessary. :)
The Retro Lawn Trimmings hemp cord from Lawn Fawn just matched the papers perfectly

You've got three weeks to play along this time. We extended the deadline due to the July 4th holiday. Sheryl will have a wonderful prize for a lucky winner! I hope you can join us.

A beautiful mess

I scrapbooked. That should be a miracle in itself. But I scrapbooked about me again. Yay!

I love the mixed fonts and messy spray inks:
 Fabric and felt flowers:
I watercolored some of the flowers on my paper:
 And some hidden journaling:

I'm entering this into the Zeus and Zoe April challenge which is "Life as it is now".

2nd grade

I scrapped! It's been so long. I really should do this more often. One page done, a thousand to go...

This is my oldest son's school pic from last year.

I used Unity's new {be inspired}layout sketch and lots of washi for The Paper Girls current challenge.

Everything patterned is washi - the banners, the strips along the top and bottom edges, the graph print behind the photo and in the corner, and of course the strips on the photo corners.
I heat-embossed some gears and fussy cut some as well.
A stack of books was necessary for this kid who always has a book in his hand!

That's my guy!

Thanks for stopping by today!

It's a boy!

I finally scrapped this baby announcement that's been hanging out on my bulletin board for almost 2 1/2 years!  : /

Thanks to Heather at The Paper Girls Challenge blog for the kick. She challenged us to create a baby-themed project. This is also my entry for ScrapbookSteals MidWeek Mojo using their sketch:

This little boy is almost 2 1/2 years old and I swear he looked like this teeny tiny baby just a few weeks ago. Man, they grow so fast!

I created the bingo card and stars using Unity stamps - Life Bingo and We Treasure You. This was my first time using both stamps. I really need to ink up more stamps! I think they're starting to feel neglected : )

I just love these Amy Tan faux-stitched Thickers and had to use them for my title.

Thanks for stopping by today.
I hope you can join us over at The Paper Girls Challenge blog for a Baby-themed challenge. There is a sweet little goody bag of crafty supplies waiting to be given away!
