Happy Birthday barn card

For Wee Memories Challenge #59 which is Anything Goes!

I made this for our cutie pie friend Charlie's 1st birthday which was a farm animal-themed party:
 My first banner:

 The inside:
That Create a Critter cartridge got a workout on this card!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY baby Charlie!!!!!!
Too bad I didn't think of photographing the cute matching envelope : (

Have a cool day!

My entry for Unity's SUMMER Challenge Sun and Sand
and Wee Memories Challenge #59 Anything Goes

The glasses are from the April kit of the month and the sentiment is 2 stamps from the Mix-up of Cuteness set.
I sanded kraft cardstock with my sanding block to try to get a sand texture. It didn't turn out quite as I wanted, but close enough. And I used my chalks on the water and sun.

My boys...a layout

A layout! I feel like I haven't made a layout in so long. I guess probably because I haven't!

This is for Off The Wall Craftiness Challenge #55 which is to use this as the color inspiration:

And Stamptacular Sunday Challenge 115 to make something for Dads or grads and to stamp.

And All Things Unity #33 which is to make something manly.

I chose to scrap this photo of the boys with their dad. I think it just shows how much they love him!
I did add a little blue to the colors I chose as I just felt it needed it (sorry Kim, I won't feel bad if you disqualify me!). I just got these cute little book plates and I couldn't wait to use the. Here I framed the photo with it. I love metal embellishments!

A rubon on a tag with some twine. Mmmm, love twine!

My stamps are from Unity's current kit of the month "Think happy Thoughts". I stamped and fussy cut those flowers. I don't know why people think you can't put flowers on a "boy" project.

Not sure I'm digging this title. It came with the stamp set so I tried it. But I think I want something more to do with "Dad" rather than "Family".  I'll have to stare at it for awhile.

If only the baby was in the photo too!

The blogversary approaches...

Hmmm.
June 17th will mark my one-year annviersary of starting this blog.
Do I jump on the giveaway bandwagon?
: )
Who wants a giveaway for the blogversary?!?!?
With enough response I'll put together a package.
But I need to figure out how to do it (the giveaway, not picking items!).
Random drawing drawing from comments?
Whoever is the first to come clean my kitchen?
I can dream.

Just crafty supplies?
Or maybe one with craft supplies and another with Lemongrass Spa items?
Let me think about this...

hello my friend

Okay, here's my last-minute entry for the Unity challenge to use birds!

The stamps are from the current kit of the month:
I went simple on this one. Stamped in white onto black cardstock.
And then just added some bling and some ribbon (that just happened to match the flourish in the stamp!)

I kept wanting to add something to finish it or frame it...but I fought the urge and just left it simple.
Is it too simple? Not simple enough?
Hmmpphhh.
Not sure.
But I think I still like it so I will leave it.

ATC Swap, part 2

Ok, so here is the second half of my ATC swap cards:
I misted the card with a couple colors. Distressed and inked the edges.
Both the flower (stamped 3 times) and the sentiment are the Of The Earth set from Stampin Up.
 I love this ribbon!

 And all 16 cards.
Is it weird I did 2 different cards? 16 just seemed like too many to do of one card.
Hmmm, still not sure how I feel about half getting one card and half getting another.

And initially I thought this would be my favorite.
But I think the other more colorful one might be winning now.
I am still waiting on my cards from the swap. I'm told they'll be here any time now.....

Happy Birthday card

This is my second entry in the Unity challenge which is to use birds.
I really, really want to win this month's awesome prize.
: )
So this probably won't be my last entry either!

The stamps are from the Itty Bitty set called Happy chick Birthday.
What better way to use an Itty Bitty stamp than on an itty bitty card?
So I made a cute little 3x3 card.
I had to only use a select portion of the sentiment to get it to fit though and had to stamp the birds separately too.
 I love twine!
This time I colored the image instead of paper-piecing. And since I had a one-year-old monster hanging on me please forgive my coloring outside the lines!

So Happy Together

Okay, I made this cute little card and it is for 4 different challenges.

First up is the Unity challenge to use birds!
Second, is Wee Memories challenge to paper piece.
Next is Here Come The Boys challenge which is Anything Goes (as long as it is suitable for a male).
Lastly, I wanted to enter the Color Throwdown challenge (I love their colors). But the problem is that their colors are pink, brown, light blue and kraft. But since this is for a male I kinda changed the pink to an orangey color. I probably shouldn't enter, but I'm gonna try anyway because some of the DT cards up on their site don't exactly match either. : )

I thought it would be nice to create a card I can give to my husband just to say I love you!
The birds and sentiment are Unity stamps from the Happyville set.

Here are the cute little pieced birds. I had to stamp them 5 times, once as the base and 4 times on each of the different papers. This is actually my first time paper piecing! I like it.

The sentiment is punched with my SU label punch, but I wanted it framed so I hand cut the kraft and brown frames behind it. Then added some I-rock bling.

 Beautiful cappuccino twine.

And the inside.
